Kindergarten Registration Information

Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration 2023 – 2024 School Year

When:  Daily during school year

From: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where:  Office - Please call the Barker office after pre-enrolling your student to make an appointment to complete the registration.

Children entering Transitional Kindergarten must be born between September 2, 2018 and September 1, 2019, to attend our award-winning FREE FULL-DAY TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN!

Children entering Kindergarten must be born between September 2, 2017 and September 1, 2018, to attend kindergarten.

To enroll your child in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten the following documents and information are required:

1. Child’s Birth Certificate
2. Child’s up-to-date Immunization Record (yellow card)
3. Your current proof of address (utility bill such as gas, electric, water, or cable bill) in your name, along with your driver’s license. Or a letter from the homeowner stating you and your child live in the home and a copy of their utility bill and your driver’s license.

It is very important to come prepared. Children will not be enrolled until the above information is provided. We are looking forward to meeting you and your new Barker student. We are very proud of our school and our wonderful kindergarten programs. 

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: (Written documentation of the immunizations administered by a physician or health care agency must be provided.) 

Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis

Required Doses: Five doses at any age, but four doses meet the requirement if at least one was given on or after the fourth birthday.

Hepatitis B

Required Doses: A series of Three doses. The 2nd dose: 1-2 months after 1st dose; 3rd dose: 2-6 months after 2nd dose and at least 4 months after 1st dose.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)  

Required Doses: Two doses of measles containing vaccine,  at least one of which must be MMR; both doses must be received on or after the first birthday.

Polio

Required Doses: Four doses at any age , but three doses meet the requirement if at least one was given on or after the fourth birthday.

Varicella (Chickenpox)

Required Doses: Two doses or healthcare provider-documented varicella disease or immunity.

ORAL DENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT:

Required Doses: You will receive an Oral Health Assessment form to be completed by your child’s dentist. This form must be completed by May 31, 2024.

Our transitional kindergarten/kindergarten daily schedule is:

8:30 – School Begins

10:10 – 10:30 – Recess

12:20 – 1:00 – Lunch

2:50 – Dismissal (Wednesday dismissal is 2:00)
