We are all happy to be back to school on a regular schedule/5 days a week. I believe we are the only school in Orange County that has been able to return to full day instruction. In order to continue with this schedule, remind your child to follow all COVID 19 safety precautions of social distancing, washing hands and wearing a mask while at school. Please remember to complete the Parent Square Daily Health Survey before sending your child to school. Together, we will keep Barker a safe and healthy environment of all of our students and staff members.
Our school will be closed from Monday, November 23 – Friday, November 27 for our Thanksgiving holiday. Following our Thanksgiving break, Monday, November 30 is a non-student day. Teachers will be in their classrooms preparing for parent conferences and report cards.
PTA Monthly Meeting:
Our PTA is still holding monthly meetings on-line over Zoom. Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 17th at 6:00 pm. The Zoom information to join the meeting is 296 944 9973. The password is 12565.
Student of the Month Character Trait:
Our Student of the Month (SOM) character trait for November is “Good Citizenship.” Awards will be given out in the classrooms on Monday, November 16th.
Happy Technology News: Our CARES Act purchases are slowly coming in. At this point, we have received our new order of iPads. This will allow our kindergarten and first grade classrooms to have their own set of iPads. WE also received our new Chromebooks to help replace our older models that are not functioning as well as we would like.
School Picture Day: Our picture day is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st. We are working with our picture company to ensure our students are in a safe environment while having their picture taken. Information on how to purchase your child’s school pictures will be coming home soon.
