Barker families, It was wonderful seeing all of you at our Ice Cream Social this afternoon. What a great turnout! I'm happy to welcome our Barker Lions back to the 2025-2026 school year. I know it's going to be a great one, and the teachers and I have been busy preparing for the first day of school. Here are some important reminders for a smooth start to the school year: Breakfast begins at 7:55 and is served in the cafeteria. Once children receive their breakfast items, they should walk to the shade structure to eat breakfast. Children are allowed on our playground at 8:15 and are escorted by a teacher (the first day of school, families are welcomed to walk their child to class, if they would like to. After the first day, only TK/K parents are allowed on campus. If you need access to our campus during the school day, please sign in at our front office). The front parking lot are for busses only. Please use the side parking lot for drop off and pick up and follow all safety rules when dropping off and picking up. The lane nearest to the stalls are for backing up only. TK/K parents, please do not walk through our parking lot traffic. Instead, use the sidewalk along Springdale Street, if coming from that direction. If you are dropping off or picking up, please prepare for traffic and time the first week. Thank you for your patience in advance. If your child is being picked up on foot in front of our office, make sure they know where to meet you. Bus passes will be distributed at a ​later date. Children riding the bus to and from school do not need buss passes at this time. Our front office will send a link to register for a bus pass, if needed. Recent Upgrades to Barker's Parking Lot Dear Barker Parents, The beginning of school is right around the corner, and we look forward to having students back on campus! We want you to be aware that the Barker parking lot received some updates over the summer. The changes were done to eliminate blind spots that existed near the student entrance/exit gate and for better field of vision for students entering and exiting school. This was all planned with student safety in mind, which is a top priority for Barker. Two of the handicapped parking spots were moved. The locations of the new spaces were positioned and measured in compliance with ADA regulations, complete with access aisles. There is no parking adjacent to the student entrance gate. Thank you for your continued caution and patience in the parking lot as we all strive to keep our students safe!

Barker families, This is just a reminder for our parents that only our TK/K children can be accompanied on campus by a parent before school. We understand that it may be necessary to walk our smallest Lions to class; however, in grades 1st-6th we are trying to promote independence in our children, and they should not be accompanied by parents on the campus unless permitted otherwise. Kona Ice is coming to Garden Park Thursday 8/14 Welcome back ​Garden Park Families. We are starting the year off right with a visit from Kona Ice! Boys and Girls club will have an opportunity to visit the truck as well so please have your student bring money in a zip lock bag labeled with your students name and “Kona Ice” if you want them to participate.
