Barker Scholars Celebrate Honor Roll School Title

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) this week was named a California Honor Roll District and 40 of its schools were named 2021-2022 California Honor Rolls Schools, earning recognition for high achievement in student success, reduction in achievement gaps, and high college readiness in students. 

The prestigious 2021-22 California Honor Roll includes 1,798 high performing schools and is issued by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business Education Excellence (CBEE), a national coalition of business and education leaders.

GGUSD schools named to the 2021-2022 California Honor Roll include Allen, Anthony, Barker, Brookhurst, Carrillo, Cook, Evans, Excelsior, Faylane, Gilbert, Hazard, Hill, Lawrence, Marshall, Mitchell, Morningside,  Murdy, Newhope, Parkview, Paine, Patton, Post, Riverdale, Rosita, Stanford, Stanley, Sunnyside,  Warren, and Zeyen elementary schools; Alamitos, Doig, Irvine, Jordan, McGarvin, Ralston, and Walton intermediate schools; and Bolsa Grande, Garden Grove, La Quinta, and Rancho Alamitos high schools.

“We are so proud that our schools are known for academic success and for the work of GGUSD’s exceptional educators to help all students succeed,” said Board of Education Trustee Teri Rocco. 

California Honor Roll schools exhibit evidence-based instructional practices, learning objectives aligned to college and career readiness, and data that monitors and proves high achieving student performance, and more.
